The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Table
From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within the city.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could help the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to head to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
